The Internal Mirror

Physiological Coping & Energy Regulation

In Physiological Coping & Energy Regulation,

you’ll explore the next key element in the experience of stress—your body.

Building on the foundation laid in Emotional Coping & Regulation,

this course shifts the focus to physiology and

reveals how your body plays an active role in shaping

your reality and experience of stress.

Specifically, you will learn 3 core physiological practices of

energy awareness,

active sensory engagement,

attunement to physiological needs.

While many of us have only a limited or surface-level understanding of these practices, this course offers a more comprehensive, unique & practical approach.

This course does not focus on the body through common lenses; there will be no lectures on weight, appearance, or sexual health.

Instead, you’ll learn practical ways to work with your body

to reduce stress, stay present, and feel grounded.

Much like the Emotional Coping and Regulation course helped you develop a fuller understanding of emotions and how to engage with them in practical ways,

this course will guide you in developing a rich, nuanced relationship with your body—helping you recognize bodily needs from a new perspective, respond to them skillfully, and cultivate healthier patterns of physical self-regulation and care resulting in massive stress reduction.

You’ll develop a new, liberating relationship with your body—

one rooted in partnership rather than pressure.

Through a blend of lectures, guided discussions, partner exercises, and weekly assignments, you will:

* Understand the 9 essential physiological needs and their connection to energy regulation.

* Learn to recognize and interpret bodily signals with curiosity and self-compassion.

* Identify the specific activities that drain and replenish your energy—

  unique to your Internal Mirror™.

* Develop a personalized plan for meeting physiological needs, preventing energy depletion and energy replenishment.

* Consciously engage your 6 senses (yes, there are 6 :-) as tools to return to the present moment.

* Re-examine the connection between physiology and emotion introduced in the Emotional     Coping & Regulation course.

* Discover how physiological coping fits into The Internal Mirror™ 3-Step Coping Method.

You will be invited to attend at the completion of the

Emotional Coping & Regulation.
